Please note that products purchased within 14 days can only be returned.
I. Come pay directly at Apple Store
This method is simple, but you will need to be able to communicate in Japanese and need to arrange a time to go to the Apple Store. You just need to prepare an email confirming your purchase from Apple. Apple staff will check the order, check the product status, and if there is no problem, confirm the return.
Please note that the account you use will be refunded using that account.
II. Return goods through Yamato
Step 1: Go to the Apple website, click on the bag icon in the upper right corner. Then click on the item
Step 2: Log in with the purchased email account.
If you buy with your own iCloud email, just click continue.
If you purchase using a different email account, select "Use another Apple ID" and log in as usual.
Step 3: After logging in, you will see a list of purchased products, click to select the product you need to return.
Step 4: Click on 返品を受ける
Step 5: Check email
After requesting a return, Apple will send you an email with instructions on how to return the item. The email contains two return codes, 予約番号 and 予約パスワード, used to return the item to Apple (Used in step 5).
Please note that the email will be sent to the account you used to order the product. Usually you will receive it within a few minutes, but in some cases it may take a few hours.
Step 6: Go to the nearest Yamato address, enter the 2 codes you received in the email into Yamato's device to print the shipping slip (送り状). All information has been saved in this code so you do not need to fill in any other information. Just give the shipping slip to Yamato staff (or stick it directly on the box) and they will know to receive it. According to information from the official website, Apple will cover all return shipping costs so you do not need to pay anything more.
Note: Please keep a copy of the shipping document for comparison in case of loss.
III. Refund period
Refund time for reference products is as below:
- Payment by Gift Card: average 3 days
- Bank transfer: 2-3 weeks
- Payment by credit/debit card: 1-2 months
