On the night of October 18, Apple officially launched the latest iPad Pro M2 2022 model. This tablet comes with two screen options including 11 inches and 12.9 inches, along with the all-new Apple M2 processor, and better Apple Pencil support.

All-new Apple M2 CPU

The latest iPad Pro 2022 model is equipped with the Apple M2 processor - which appeared on the Macbook Air 2022 line launched last summer. Accordingly, the M2 has an 8-core CPU structure - up to 15% faster than the M1 - accompanied by a 10-core GPU, providing up to 35% faster graphics performance compared to the previous generation.

The latest chip on the iPad Pro 2022 is also equipped with a machine learning processor, a 16-core Neural Engine that helps the system process 15.8 trillion calculations per second - 40% more than the M1. The M2 chip also has a memory bandwidth of 100GB/s - 50% more efficient than the M1.

The iPad Pro 2022 supports up to 16GB of RAM, and 5 internal memory options with the highest version up to 2TB. This promises to still be a tablet model that delivers excellent performance, suitable for all needs and tasks, even the most difficult of users.

Apple Pencil gets a complete upgrade

On this year's iPad Pro line, Apple also introduced the second-generation Apple Pencil. Supported by the new iPad Pro and iPadOS 16, the ability to use the new Apple Pencil provides a new experience that helps users interact with the screen better and more naturally.

The Apple Pencil can predict movements up to 12mm on the screen, allowing users to preview their mark before making it. This also allows users to sketch with greater precision and makes everything users do with the Apple Pencil easier. For example, with the Scribble app, text fields automatically expand as the pencil approaches the screen, and handwriting converts to text faster. Third-party apps can also take advantage of this new feature to enable entirely new marking and drawing experiences.

The all-new iPadOS 16

This year's versions of the iPad Pro 2022 all come pre-installed with iPadOS 16. In addition to supporting and adding some tweaks to improve system stability, this year Apple introduced some new features such as:

Stage Manager: provides multitasking capabilities with multiple windows at the same time, helping to maximize work progress. In the near future, the company will also support Stage Manager on separate screens with resolutions up to 6K, helping to improve users' multitasking capabilities.

Desktop application: Some apps on iPadOS 16 will be designed to be more suitable for the desktop environment, where users can perform some tasks such as undo or redo, rename file extensions or improve toolbar compatibility.

Reference Mode: The screen can now change color profiles to suit each purpose or task being used. However, this feature is only available on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2022 version.

Camera not much upgrade

On the iPad Pro 2022, Apple equips a cluster of three rear camera sensors, including a 12MP main angle sensor, a 10MP ultra-wide angle sensor and a LiDAR sensor.

This year, the company also added the ability to record ProRes video that appeared on the previous iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series. The M2 processor now also supports a new ISP image sensor, promising the ability to process more realistic and beautiful HDR photos.

The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $799 for the Wi-Fi model and $899 for the Wi-Fi + 5G model, while the 12.9-inch model is $300 more expensive, starting at $1,099 and $1,299, respectively. Pre-orders are available today, with deliveries expected to begin October 26 in 28 countries and territories.
